Qatar Red Crescent Society unveils QR6mn Adhahi Project
As Eid-al-Adha is less than three weeks away, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has announced the launch of its Adhahi Project for the year 1440 A.H.
The project aims to facilitate the observation of the Islamic ritual of Udhiya (sacrifice).
QRCS will run the project under the theme ‘Udhiya is the True Eid.’
Under the QR6 mn project, the Adhahi sacrifices will be given out as food aid to as many as 184,000 beneficiaries in Qatar and 23 African and Asian countries.
QRCS Secretary-General, Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, congratulated the Qatari people and the Muslim nation on the upcoming occasion of Eid-al-Adha.
"For the second year in a row, QRCS launches the Adhahi Project. To make it easy for everyone to observe the ritual, we will undertake the whole process on behalf of the participating public,” he said.
“All you have to do is to choose your animal, specify where it will be used, and pay the price. After that, we will do everything for you,” he highlighted.
According to QRCS, Widam Food Co. will provide and slaughter at least 800 heads of sheep in line with legal and health regulations in Qatar.
Following that, QRCS staff and volunteers will distribute the meat to the needy families registered with social assistance programs.
