A.R. Rahman captivates thousands in Qatar with his marvelous music
The musical maestro, A.R. Rahman enthralled Qatar for the very first time on March 22, 2019 at Khalifa International Stadium.
The concert that lasted more than three hours and played to a packed fully seated venue, was replete with moments of delight for musical lovers.
It was the biggest concert in the history of Qatar, there were more than 30,000 audiences!
The legend was accompanied by a mix of supremely talent singers: Udit Narayan, Javed Ali, Shweta Mohan, Haricharan Seshadri, Reihana and Isshrathquadhre, Alphons Joseph, Benny Dayal, Ranjit Barot, Dilshad Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, Jonita Gandhi, and A.R. Rahman’s sisters.
Grammy and Oscar-winning musician started the show with ‘Nadaan Parindey Ghar Ajaa', followed by one of his greatest hits 'Mukkala Mukabula' and then moved right into hit after hits.
Continuing to emanate his rock star-like aura, he went on to perform ‘Dil Se’, the immensely popular song from the 1998 Bollywood movie starring Shah Rukh Khan.
The first half of the concert warmed the crowd up with snazzy songs and flashy outfits, whereas the second half continued with a Sufi symphony. Hearing Rahman sing ‘Kun Faya Kun’ and ‘Khwaaja Mere Khwaaja’ was soul-rendering!
The singers performed beautifully both old and new songs of Rahman. Each of these singers have lent their voices to the top actors and actresses of Bollywood, and during the course of the concert, they showed off their vocal skills in solo performances.
There were also stunning dance performances almost with every song.
Rahman played the piano many times during the concert, displaying his mastery on the keyboard.
The concert gave music lovers a little bit of everything: romantic ballads, rock songs, soulful numbers, and Sufi songs.
The concert had the audience waving their cell phones creating a dreamlike affect as thousands of soft bluish lights honored Rahman.
He ended the concert with a bang, delivering his most recognized song, ‘Jai Ho’, from the Academy Award-winning film, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
