Cancellation of applied working visa

Good day everyone!

I would just like to get an advice from an expert in visas and permits regarding my issue.

Here's the gist of the story, I have a Business Visa, which I got while I'm in the Philippines. I've been applying to many companies in Qatar online, and I received an offer from a company. Since I think it's good and all, I grabbed that and went to Qatar (13 August 2018), still with my existing visa (I was advised by my sponsor that it will be easier to come with my business visa than a work visa).

So, when I arrived here in Qatar, I met my employer and accompanied me to my accommodation. The thing is, I did not expect that I will be stationed in the Industrial area (desert) and many other things. Though I thought that the work might be okay so I just waited it out.

Since I am unfamiliar with the visa thing, I thought that my visa will expire after a month, so I told my employer that they to provide me visa because the one I currently have is expiring soon. I was issued a working visa last 29 August 2018.

Here comes the problem. I've been thinking about this decision of mine if I will push through the employment to the company because I don't feel good about it anymore. I also learned that my visa is extendable up to 2 more months (this was a fault on my part), which gave me another reason to not resume my employment to that company.

Finally, last 8 September 2018, I decided not to push through with my employment. Since I haven't signed any contract and haven't gotten my medical tests yet, I thought that I can back out. So I told them my decision and they were furious at first, because they booked me for an exit flight (on the same day) which they did not inform me firsthand. But I was decided not to continue my employment with them. So they reluctantly agreed but told me that I need to talk with the owner of the company first before they cancel my visa.

Up to this date, through numerous inquiry about when I can get in touch with their owner, I still haven't talked to their owner, as they said they don't know when he is going to be in their office.

My question is, what are the possible ways for me to push them to cancel the work visa they applied for me? Thank you very much for those who can help me!

PS. Please, I've been blamed a lot na for this indecisiveness of mine. I learned my mistake, and I'm looking for solutions and not blame. So no hate please.

Hey acchabaccha!

English is the internet medium, and I want to get as many help as I can get.

Thanks for the advice man. I actually tried contacting MOI first, I called the human rights department but they redirected me to CID immigration, then CID told me that I should bring my concern to the police.

When it comes to filing complain, can I go directly to the department? Or should I file an appointment first? This also goes the same for NHRC.

Thanks again!

First of all, I was somewhat surprised that you have posted your problem in the English language. Almost, all Filipinos who post here at QL (it is seldom), write in Tagalog and expect advice from non-Filipinos! I recall, the last post at QL from someone in your country, was in Tagalog. .

Now, coming to your issue. While I am not en expert on such matters, I suggest you take the matter to the National Human Rights Committee. They may be able to help you. Possibly, they may call your HR personnel. From my point of view, I see that to be a solution to help you get out of this situation and be able to go home. But before you go over to NHRC, seek the help of your embassy first. They could guide you better on this.
