Is buying a used high mileage landcruiser a good idea ?

Planning to buy a suv which is realiable and capable in offroading. Ofcourse the best choise is Landcruiser because of it's proven reliability and reputation. Unfortuantely they are expensive and I can only afford to buy the older ones with very high mileage. My budget is around 30k . With that money I can get a 100 series landcruiser which 300k+ kilometers mileage. Should I go for it ? On the other hand with the same money I can get a newer model pajero with lot less mileage. Suggestion from your expeirence will be appreciated.
Toyotas are known for their reliability - 300K+ is very high and unless you know the full history of the car - mtce, accidents, driving habits etc then stay away otherwise you will eventually spend way more than 30K.
Suggest you either spend a bit more for lower mileage or other capable off-roaders - Xterra, Pathfinder (Classic), FJ Cruiser, Prado, Patrol
You will become a good MECHANIC in the 3 years to come, lol.
While the Land Cruiser is no doubt a very sturdy vehicle, but at the mileage you state it has done, it would demand some maintenance before it meets your expectations. The engine especially may need overhauling if not immediately then possibly in the very near future. That is going to cost you a bit while it will not get you a single riyal extra when you would like to sell off the vehicle.
On the other hand while you are getting a newer model of Pajero, you cannot match a Pajero to a Land Cruiser. Also, the spare parts of Pajero are costly compared to that of Land Cruiser. Possibly, that may be a reason why Mitsubishi vehicles don't have a good market.
Suggest, you save a bit and go for a newer model with lower mileage or alternatively go for a brand new car though a smaller one.
