Is your Istimara nearing renewal date? Now you can get it delivered to your home!

If the time of renewal for your vehicle registration (Istimara) is nearing, and you are planning to go to the General Directorate of Traffic to do the same, then you can forget it.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has just launched electronic registration of Istimara renewal through either the MOI e-services portal or Metrash2 mobile app, reported Gulf Times.

So what about the new Istimara that you receive at the traffic office? No sweat. It will be delivered by Qatar Post to your home address (or whatever address you specify). If you are not comfortable with it, it can also be collected from the Traffic Secrvice Centres, according to The Peninsula.

An applicant must complete vehicle inspection for cars that are over three years old and complete insurance procedures before applying for the renewal service electronically. 

Once these are completed, all you need to do is log into the online platforms, select Traffic Services and then choose Vehicle Registration Renewal from the listed services.

Provide the vehicle plate number, choose the correct type of registration and then confirm the details provided. Registration fee can be paid electronically using a credit card for individuals and direct debit from the bank account for companies.

All types of vehicles including private, government, and companies can be renewed using this service and it works 24X7. 

The move comes as part of the ministry’s strategic efforts to develop services across its various departments, its 2020 digital vision and the strategic goal of having a paperless ministry.

The service is expected to ease the process for applicants visiting service centres, which currently carry out more than 4,000 transactions per day as well as more than 70,000 licence renewals transactions per month.
