Indian schools get special permission for vacations this year, to reopen on September 9
Indian parents and children living in Qatar, who had planned their vacations well in advance, will now be able to heave a big sigh of relief.
This is because the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has granted special permission for Indian schools in Qatar to reopen after summer vacations on September 9, according to Gulf Times.
Earlier, the education ministry had published a directive that all schools in the country begin their 2018-19 academic year on August 29.
However, this had left Indian schools confused as to the timing of their spring break and summer vacation.
According to the new directive, Indian Schools are also exempted from the ministry-instructed week-long break in April as the academic year of Indian schools ends in March and students get a break at the end of March, reported The Peninsula.
This gives a great relief to the parents as they are relieved of the stress of re-booking air tickets with increased price.
However, this special permission is only for this year and all Indian Schools are committed to follow, from next year, the ministry calendar for reopening after vacation.
