German Embassy and Goethe-Institut host activities at Doha International Book Fair this weekend
The German Embassy Doha and the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Sports to inform the audience of the Qatari capital on the German book market and present selected books in German, English and Arabic.
The Doha International Book Fair takes place at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre from 29 November to 5 December 2017.
Beside the Qatar Germany 2017 Pavilion various talks and presentations will take place as part of a varied program offered by the German institutions.

The talk will be in English.
German manga artist Inga Steinmetz visits the Doha International Book Fair to present her work as a manga author. In conversation with TV presenter Crystal Tannoury she will talk about recent tendencies in the German manga and comic scene and explain how she started her career as manga artist. Based on her latest manga she will talk about what inspires her, how she starts working on a new manga and what are the steps to follow from the first idea to the finalized book.

In a workshop for teenagers and adults she shows how to develop a character for a manga. She introduces into different techniques of drawing moods such as sadness, anger, surprise, and joy. The participants will be provided with easy steps to follow to develop their own character as a first step to become a manga artist themselves.

Tall or short, old or young - Inga Steinmetz draws your features in the style of a manga character with a few strokes. The visitors can take their portrait home.
