Discover America Festival kicks off with exciting new events
The US embassy in Qatar has announced the commencement of the Discover America Festival for 2017, with a variety of events and promotions planned to take place across Doha over the coming month.
One of the most familiar of these is Doha Film Institute’s (DFI) ’Cinema under the Stars’ at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park. These outdoor screenings have become something of an annual expectation, and are free and open to the public. A number of American documentaries and animated films are set to be screened from the 1st of November on till the 4th, beginning each night at 7 pm.
Another innovation of the festival is the US university fair taking place on Saturday, November 4th at Sheraton Hotel Doha. The fair will last from 6 to 9pm, with US university representatives on hand to answer questions about their programmes and applications.
On November 15th, you can, “Experience the excitement of a live American band at Mall of Qatar on November 15 and taste the unique flavours of American cuisine in specially-crafted menus at five American hotels in Doha. Enjoy special food promotions on US products around town,” according to an embassy statement.
The US embassy is also hosting a business and investment seminar for entrepreneurs and business owners, with support from the Qatar Financial Centre. You can register for the seminar through this link.
