There are several clinics where you can get your eyes diagnosed by a qualified doctor. The charges vary from clinic to clinic but are usually around QR 100. I had mine done at Naseem Al Rabeah Medical Center located at C Ring opposite Gulf Times and the consultation fee was just QR 50. Glasses are indeed very costly here in Qatar and also in some other ME countries. I get mine by by sending the prescription over to my family back home and they send my new glasses with someone coming down to Doha. I am unaware if you can get them from China but would suggest not to take this step. It's a matter of your eyes.
