Major boost to traffic movement in Al Rayyan as two new interchanges open
Traffic movement through Al Rayyan area has been a nightmare in recent times.
The ongoing development of the 45km Al Rayyan-Dukhan Corridor got a major boost with the opening of two key interchanges yesterday.
The first interchange is located between Al Shafi Street and Al Rayyan Road and the second between Al Qalaa (Fort) Street and Al Rayyan Road, reported Gulf Times.
It is expected to drastically reduce traffic congestion on Al Qalaa Street and in the commercial areas of Al Shafi Street in Al Rayyan.

The two multilevel interchanges, which include two underpasses, will provide continuous traffic movement along Al Rayyan Road to facilitate the flow of vehicles to and from Al Rayyan Road and from the surrounding areas.
Service tunnels, five kilometres of storm-water drainage networks, treated sewage effluent (TSE) and sewage networks and street lighting poles are the project’s other highlights.
