Expatriate sentenced to three years in jail for dealing in drugs
A Doha Criminal Court sentenced an expatriate man to three years in jail and subsequent deportation after it was proven he had been involved in illicit drug trade.
The defendant was also ordered to pay a fine of QR200,000 for the crime, according to Gulf Times.
The man, when caught, had over 5kg worth of amphetamine pills for personal consumption and trade. He was caught after anonymous sources tipped off about the man’s illegal trade in Qatar.
An undercover agent approached the man for amphetamine pills worth QR950. Once the money and the pills were handed over, policemen apprehended the dealer. More stock of the drug was found at his residence.
