HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has called off the national day military parade that was due to be held on the 18th of December, according to a report from Qatar News Agency.

Qatar is reportedly preparing to heavily scale down national day celebrations in solidarity with the people suffering in the Syrian city of Aleppo.

All activities on the Corniche that was to be held during national have been cancelled.

Qatar has opted to cancel festive traditional activities like singing and Ardah at Darb Al Saai, the main venue for national day activities, in solidarity with the painful events happening in Aleppo. The venue, however, will remain open for other activities till December 20th as planned.

The decision comes following the tragic situation in Aleppo where civilians have been enduring the agony of years of fighting and months of bitter siege and bombardment.

Qatar had also called for an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council to discuss Aleppo's dire situation. The details of the meeting discussions have not been announced yet.

It is possible that other festive national day activities may be cancelled on this tragic ocassion.

Stay tuned for updates...

Great Decision....

Prohibition of Harming Neighbour: The Prophet, (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer.’’ It was asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?’’ He said, "One whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil" (Sahih Bukhari).

Do not eat your full while your neighbour is hungry: The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him) says:" He is not a believer who eats his fill whilst his neighbour beside him goes hungry" (Bukhari).
