Indian expat who had not gone home in three decades dies in accident
If you look around the country, you will see a great many people who have not gone home in several years. While some of them could not do so owing to the loss of their papers, others may have abstained from leaving because there was simply no one to go back to.
India’s 74-year-old Shaik Mohamed Rowther Dawood Sahib Haja Mohideen, who tragically lost his life on Monday while crossing the road at Doha’s Al Hilal Area, was one such person.
Mohideen, who was working in a Qatari national’s home, had not travelled to India for more than 30 years, according to the Gulf Times. He was killed after being knocked down by a speeding car near his employer’s home.
Hailing from Thiruvarur Taluk in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district, very little is known about his near and dear ones. His Qatari sponsor has asked for help from the Indian expatriate community to help track down surviving relatives.
It is understood that Mohideen last travelled to India in mid-1980s.
Anyone who knows more about Mohideen’s relatives may please contact social worker Abdul Salam Palakkad on 55821005. Let’s all come together to try and find his relatives.
Inna lillahi Wainna Ilaihi Rajioon.
Tragic.. May he rest in peace.
