Are you using these cool new WhatsApp tools including video calling?
So WhatsApp has become a daily part of our lives and it is getting better with each passing day. Not only is the app very user friendly, it also makes communication so much easier.
Ever since Facebook bought the application for a record $19bn, it has been introducing new features all the time. And now, after a long, long wait, Android users with access to the app’s Beta version can now start using video calling feature.
Please note that you need the latest Beta version of WhatsApp installed. As of now, it cannot be downloaded from the Google Play Store. But you can install it by downloading it externally from this link.
Here are some of the latest features included in WhatsApp.
1. WhatsApp Video calls
Once you have installed the app’s Beta version, you are ready to go. To use video calling feature, the person you are intending to call should also have the Beta version installed.
Once you click on the contact you want to call, an option appears for making it in voice or video format. Upon testing, this user found the clarity and sound to be amazing. This is a great addition and possibly a game changer as well.
2. Add doodles/sticker/free drawing to pictures
Go to a chat message, fire up your camera inside the app and take a picture to send. As soon as the image is clicked, you will get several edit options — cropping, emojis, type and pencil — at the top right corner. By hitting on these options, you will be able to add extra fun to your pictures. The text tool helps you type on photos while the pencil tool allows you to draw freely on it.
3. Public group invite links
Now, instead of adding people yourself, you can give them the option to choose whether they would like be a part of the group or not. Once the invite has been sent, he/she will get a message asking whether they want to join. They can choose or cancel the invite.
4. Quick media forward option
In the Beta version, a very fast and easy way has been added to forward media to different people. Next to the media file (picture/GIF/video), you will see an arrow mark. Hit it and you will be taken directly to a page where you choose who to forward it to.
While it will take a little longer for these features to come to the regular app, there is nothing stopping you from installing it earlier and enjoying the benefits. Happy WhatsApp-ing!
