Look out for these malls opening soon in Doha
Living in Doha also means you're dowsed in the local "mall culture." Malls definitely are a big part of your weekend, and weekdays too in many cases.
Here are some of the new malls slated to open this year.
Doha Festival City
This mall is located north of Doha on the Shamaal Road, and will be a shopper's paradise with over 400 retail outlets expected to open there
There will be an 18-screen 4D VOX cinema, an Angry Birds theme park, a themed role play zone, an e-sports gaming arena, F1 and flight simulators and a snow park.
Expected opening month – February 2017
Alhazm Mall
This soon-to-open premium luxury mall replicates Milan's historic shopping mall, constructed in the mid-19th century, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The mall is targeted towards local millionaires, however, the beauty of the mall at least makes for a good walk, if nothing else.
Expected opening month – December 2016
Mall of Qatar
Mall of Qatar will open its doors to its 500,000 sq. m innovative shopping concept with top-notch recreation and leisure options.
This destination will premiere the world's first resident troupe – offering mall-wide entertainment with 52 weeks of spectacular headline shows on a 360-degree custom developed revolving stage, as well as a multilevel Family Entertainment Complex with an international edutainment concept, advanced gaming machines and enthralling rides.
The mall will also feature a 19-screen Cineplex inclusive of IMAX's laser projection and 12 channel immersive sound system on the region's largest screen.
500 retail, dining and café options, along with the 5-star AlRayyan hotel operated by Curio, a collection by Hilton, promises an exciting experience for all its visitors.

Tawar Mall
Located down the road from Landmark Mall, Tawar Mall will have 300 shops and restaurants, including an indoor souq, an entertainment area designed like a giant toy factory and Qatar's first Spar supermarket.

It doesn't bother me at all. Let the malls be malls, nobody needs them.
"New Lu Lu Hyper market" shall be opening by December 2016 in Meseila Area.
"K Mart" Market, located in West Bay shall be opening by December 2016 .
"Doha Mall" in Abu Humour area is also slated for opening by mid 2017.
"Marina Mall" located in Lusail shall be opening by 2018.
"North Gate Mall" located on the Shumal Road, shall also be opening in 2018.
