Qatar beat Syria in World Cup Qualifier

Huzzzah!

Qatar got their first World Cup qualifying points on the table by defeating Syria 1-0 yesterday. The team finally gave the new manager something to smile about – and ofcourse the crowd to cheer.

Midfielder Hassan al-Haydous scored from the penalty spot in the 37th minute and Qatar held on to win.

In other group matches, Uzbekistan beat China 2-0 and Iran beat South Korea 1-0.

Still plenty of points to play for. Iran tops the group with 10 points, one ahead of Uzbekistan. South Korea has seven points. Syria are fourth with four points, Qatar fifth with three and China have only one point.
