Qatar’s Abdulqadir wins shot put silver medal in Rio Paralympics
Qatar’s Abdulqadir Abdulrahman did the country proud by winning silver medal, in men’s shotput F34 event, at the ongoing Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Abdulrahman threw 11.15M to finish second on the podium. Morocco’s Azeddine Nouiri, who heaved the weighted ball to 11.28M away, captured gold while third place went to Colombia’s Mauricio Valencia, who threw 11.10M.
Abdulrahman is one of three athletes representing Qatar at the Rio Paralympic Games. The others are Mohammed Rashid Al Kubaisi (men’s wheelchairs 100M) and Sarah Hamady Masoud (women’s shot put).
