Seven art marvels set to be cynosure of all eyes at the Mall of Qatar

The Mall of Qatar will be home to seven stunning contemporary art pieces, which would double as lighting fixtures installed within the domed rotundas through the mall.
A total of 350 people from Germany, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Croatia, Thailand, Ireland, and Albania have been involved in the art pieces’ design, production, and installation.
The Pins, Bow Ties, and the Shoe are currently installed in various locations in the mall, while The Acrobats, the Golden Rings, Wall of Egrets, and the Footballs are in the installation phase.
Consisting of 12 different materials, each artwork is considered a standalone masterpiece.
At the main entrance on the west wall is the Wall of Egrets composed of nine Egrets which portray the internally illuminated birds as they take off from the ground and fly up a cascading wall of water.
Visitors will also find the Rings at the main entrance of the building comprising seven inner hoops with gold brush coating placed offset from the centre and will be hung from the atrium glass roof.
Inside the mall is the Bow Ties, inspired by the type of necktie worn by men for formal events installed in the first of three centric domes of the Mall.
The second dome is home to the Pins, a sculpture reminiscent of a pincushion used by tailors in measuring and sewing bespoke suits and dresses.
One of the most beloved pieces of women’s fashion, the Shoe will be displayed in the third dome.
In the family entertainment area, visitors will see The Acrobats – human figures in the form of a tightrope walker, a trapeze artist, a unicyclist, a person balancing on a ball, and an aerial silk performer.
The Footballs, a colorful, playful sculpture that pays homage to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, also adorns one of the Mall’s domes.
The 500,000 square metre Mall of Qatar will feature top notch recreation and leisure options. It will premiere the world’s first resident troupe offering mall-wide entertainment with 52 weeks of spectacular headline shows on a 360-degree custom made revolving stage, as well as a multilevel Family Entertainment Complex.
The Mall also features a 19-screen Cineplex inclusive of IMAX’s revolutionary laser projection and 12 channel immersive sound system on the region’s largest screen.
