Municipality cracks down on expired food products

The Health Control Section at Umm Salal Municipality has destroyed 250kg of frozen chicken past its expiry date, after seizing it from a consumer goods complex, Gulf Times reported.
The Health Control Section at Al Wakrah Municipality also destroyed around 40kg of rotten fish, after being inspected by the veterinarian in-charge. The necessary legal procedures have also been taken.
The Municipality of Al Khor and Al Zakhira in collaboration with Al Khor and Al Zakhira Wildlife Unit and the Public Cleaning Department has cleared a site where garbage was found dumped near a gas pipeline. A board in three languages was installed to warn people against throwing garbage near gas pipelines. The Wildlife Unit is monitoring the site.
The Public Cleaning Department section for Islands and Beaches conducted a number of cleaning campaigns last week covering the beach parallel to Abu Samra Road. It also cleaned Al Safiliyah Island as well as Al Wakrah Port and Beach.
