Doha Municipality shuts down restaurant for 60 days for violation
Doha Municipality Director Jamal Mattar Al Nuaimi issued an administrative decision to close a restaurant in Al Markhiya area for 60 days for preparing food in 'unhygienic conditions' in violation of Article No 4 of Law No 8 of 1990.
The Department's Health Control Section had earlier booked a violation against the restaurant and issued several warnings to its management. However, the restaurant failed to comply with the implementation of the mandated health requirements.
Health control inspectors at Doha Municipality stressed that the municipality would continue its inspection campaigns on all food establishments within its jurisdiction and would take necessary legal action against violators.
The closure of the restaurant in Al Markhiya is the latest in Doha Municipality's continuous inspection campaigns. Earlier, it had ordered the closure of nine food facilities in June for non-compliance with the Food Act.
The municipality's 2,084 surprise inspections in June resulted in the issuance of 68 reports of violation and 21 warnings.

There is always other side of the coin where there is no voice for arguments!!!..Many restaurants are charged with huge fines for small violations. There is always a limitation on required space due to high rent..
