Driving with UAE License In Qatar

If the advice is erroneous , then action must be taken against the poster..

I suggest that the authorities and Mods look into this advice by MM since driving illegally and causing an accident could cause serious legal issues for all parties concerned..

Dear Sir,

Report has been released by The Traffic Department saying that the driving licenses of expats from the GCC countries cannot be converted into Qatari Driving licenses.

One needs to be a GCC Citizen in order to be eligible for this license conversion.

Qatar residents permit holders who hold valid GCC driving licence can still take the direct test, failure to pass this test means they have to take the full course.

MM is back! Let the nonsense begin.

It is a shame how MM misguides people through his posts. But he must do it as it is part of his nature. Now on this first day after Ramadan, he has come back with silly answers which were building up in his mind during Ramadan, ready to be released after Ramadan. One can notice this from the number of times he has posted his comments since morning even going to extent of posting his old, favourite comment "your location please."

More silliness. It is illegal to drive on a UAE license , whether MM allows you or not ..

Talal, If you are a responsible person & have full confidence in your skills to drive a car here as in UAE then no need to afraid my pal .............. I assume you are a safe driver ........ I won't mind if you drive here as well ....... for example .... We don't need to get a Doctor's permission to breath either we are in UAE or Qatar ...... We must breath in & out as long as we are alive ....... and it won't affect other people .......... we are using a small amount of oxygen only .............

Taking the papers from "girls" will do magic for you!

Now coming to your query. Qatar has now stopped converting other GCC country's driving license to a Qatari driving license. You will need to go to a driving school for further instructions. Don't drive in Qatar with a license of any GCC country even though it may be valid. You will fall into trouble.

If you've seen people driving on UAE license and having an RP , then they are breaking the law and you should report them to the authorities
