Dear all

I got married recently. I am working in Doha with Salary of 8500 QAR all included + company transportation. My wife is working in India in a reputed software company. We need to start a family.

So, I am planning to ask her to resign and come over to doha to look for a job, is it advisable, Can she get a good job here ?? Will i be able to manage all the expenses ? or in the other hand can i resign and go back to india to live with my wife ??

Please advice..

Thanks

it depends on the contract, most employers want you to work at least a year before taking maternity leave. So check contract before starting job otherwise you will be sacked

Wont there be any problem in the Hamad hospital for accepting the women in work visa, do they ask for any certificates like marriage certificate etc.,

Thanks for you valuable comments, friends.

How about having a baby in qatar for a women with work visa. Will the company give maternity leave, or may ask her to leave the company ?

Brit, Specifically he should skip his next one vacation only, then observe the reactions from his wife & in laws . He needs to concentrate more on his TASK & his boss's happiness for the long term dividends .........

Suggest you bring your wife here on a visit visa and she can enjoy her time with you here for a couple of months. Together, you can plan your next course of action. Since the matter relates to the two of you, its only you two who can decide best the future course of action.

The time period required by the "philosopher" at QL has now changed from "3 days" to "3 months" to think things over! Ha! Ha! Possibly, muad-db may also be thinking of changing his time requirements for thinking over matters.

CI, having a child is not a problem, it will just put you on a path that you may not be prepared too take. Get your finances in order before you move to the next phase of your life.

MM: Please advise on how many vacations to skip.. Should he stay here for say five years to save max ?

By Molten Metal• 23 Jun 2016 08:27

Skip your vacation from now onwards to save max till she lands here. Don't disclose to your in laws because once they learn that you are thinking to get her here they will put extra pressure on you & force you to take her out of India at the earliest.

No need to be confused, everybody has gone through this type of situation . First ask her opinion if she too wants to start a family ?

Give her 3 months to think & decide weather she wants to come here or stay there.

In the mean time you make efforts to get a increase in your salary. Please your boss & senior staff, satisfy them with your results to get rewards like Visa approval & other benefits .................. .........

Your questions cannot be really answered by us..

For a start , your salary is 8,500 .. So you are not eligible to bring her over on family resident visa.

Secondly, the only way she can come here is on a work visa.. She might be able to get a job, but she will only find out by trying..

Thirdly.. You say that you want to start a family... So this means that she will have to give up work for a few months at least..

My advice is that if she has a good job in India and you can find a reasonable job in your home country , then go home..

But only you can know your real circcumstnces , issues and thus make this decision ..

It is best to talk it over with your wife..
