Colombo
Hi..
I am returning to Cochin via Colombo on 17th. I have a booked a Connection flight via Colombo and there I will get a 8hr time to change my flight. In the meantime I am planning to do a short visit on Colombo.. Is it possible, I have taken colombo transit visa for 1 days.
I need to know;
May I get boarding pass from Colombo to Kochi from here in Doha? Traveling on Srilankan Airways Doha to Colombo and Colombo to Kochi..
If I get this, shall I need to take care about my luggage in Colombo Airport? Hope I will get my luggage only in Cochin.
And in this short time in Colombo 8hrs, consider 6hrs.. What can I expect outside? Which places I can visit in this short time?
I am not a expencive person, and need to taste sri lankan traditional foods? Is it possible outside? and if anybody experienced it, can you suggest a good dishes with approx cost there?
Valuable advices & suggestions required.. and thanks in advance..
Still the guys queries not understood properly ................... !
If you flying Sri Lankan airline up to Cochin with a connecting flight from Colombo on the same airline, then it should no be no problem in collecting your luggage at Cochin. This takes place in most airlines.
Thank all.. If anybody have experienced there... can you suggest a good restaurant where I can have traditional Lankan dishes.. As I said I am not looking for luxuries hotel.. Looking for a medium neat one.. and that too nearby airport....
Any particular restaurant or location..
and regarding luggage I will confirm with baggage check in counter and will ask for the boarding pass for CMB-Cochin..
Possible you can get a halt for a few hours outside Colombo.
But you have to check with Sri Lankan Airlines Check in Counter at Doha Airport if they will allow you to checked your baggage to your final destination which is Kochi (COK).
Airline will not give your a Boarding Pass from CMB/COK if you tell them that you will be leaving CMB Airport.
This is Airlines procedure for Security reasons.
Nano, have you been to Colombo? Have you been food poisoned before Don't go to any Sri lankan Restaurant or not even to Malayalee Hotel. .

Sharjah: Six members of an Emirati family and their maid were admitted to Al Dhaid Hospital on Tuesday morning suffering from food poisoning after eating at a popular Dubai hotel restaurant.
Authorities will not reveal the name of the hotel until tests confirm it is responsible for the food poisoning.
A 32-year-old woman and her four children aged eight, seven, five and 18 months and the woman’s 28-year-old sister and the family maid were all affected.
They were admitted to the hospital’s emergency section at 6.30am complaining of nausea, dizziness and vomiting, a source from Al Dhaid Hospital told Gulf News.
The woman’s husband, who is in his later 40s and had not eaten at the hotel, was not affected.

dont eat anything outside...u will get food poisoning
Yes, I believe it is possible. Since you are taking a connecting flight you should be able to collect you luggage at Cochin. Talk to your travel agent or the Sri Lankan airline people for best guidance.
You should have your luggage checked in directly to Kochi.....
