Fans set to enjoy unique acoustic experience at new Al Bayt Stadium!
The 60,000 fans who will walk up to the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City for the semifinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will enjoy a truly unique acoustic experience, developed by incorporating the Arab world’s culture and traditional hospitality.
The stadium, whose design is inspired by the Bedouin tent, is being built on a 14M tall hill to replicate the traditional placement of such tents in the past.
The stadium’s unique placement, like being inside a bowl in the middle of a raised area, will help enhance the acoustics.
“The way the stadium has been designed is specifically to enhance acoustics and create an outstanding fan experience,” said Mohemed Ahmed, who is the SC Project Manager at Al Bayt Stadium.
German architects GMP are working on stadium design for the proposed future home of Al Khor Sports Club.
Construction work is now entering the main phase as the first concrete piles have been laid, with the maximum depth of these to reach 21M. While piling work is expected to finish by the end of 2016, the stadium itself is set for completion by 2018.
The stadium precinct will be filled with greenery and parks. Upon entering the stadium, fans will look down onto the pitch in order to get maximum visibility from all seating areas.
Following the 2022 tournament, the stadium will reduce its seating capacity by half to 32,000, with the upper tiers donated to countries in need of sporting infrastructure.

Wt: Be prepared to eat some humble pie...
Even if it will have 60,000 seats, that doesn't mean that there will be 60,000 spectators.
When I see it, I will believe it! When it is delayed and falling apart, that's another thing...like everything else here including the road works
dingding: I think you are wrong.. There are only a few football stadia in the world with seating capacity of 90,000 +
seating capacity of 60,000 for all major stadium to be built in Qatar was far less with world average ( 95,000 seat).
