Cost of living & salary in Qatar

Hi, i've been offered a sales manager role with an organization in Doha, Qatar, with a salary of Qatari Riyal 14,000/- PM, approx. Apart from this salary, i would be entitled to health card, company's car and fuel allowance for daily travelling within the city limits.

We are a family of 3, of Indian origin, comprising of myself, my wife and a small kid, an year old. My dad would be frequenting betwen India and Qatar with lenghty stay each time he comes in.

My wife has finance background and is presently working in India. What are her prospects when she migrates to Qatar. Would she be allowed to work.

Since the kid is small enough, we would have to consider medical and vaccination costs as well.

Forgot to mention, accommodation would be my headcahe and not on account of the company.

I would request the forum members to please guide if this salary would be good enough to sustain and save or what should be the ideal salary.

You will be paying around QR 6000 as rent for an apartment. Your food, water and electricity and other miscellaneous expenses would be around QR 5000. The rest is in your pocket. Compare this what you are getting now and draw your own conclusions.

However, since accommodation is at your expenses, I would guess that half of your salary will go for that. You won't be able to save anything considering the cost of living in Qatar.

An "ideal" salary would be one million per month.
