AmCham Qatar hosts Annual Golf Tournament

DOHA: The American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar (AmCham Qatar) celebrated the completion of the ‘Discover America Week Qatar 2016’ by hosting its 6th Annual Golf Tournament at the Doha Golf Club.

Nearly 70 competitors played 18 holes of Texas Scramble and competed for a range of skills-based prizes.

While Zachary Draeger, Steve Kenney, Danny Garvey and Rosaline Garvey (all 55.8pts) won the tournament, Marlon Laughter, Thomas Goulter and Robert McVey (all 57.1) finished as runners-up. Sunney Ju, Steven Morales, Charles Filholm and Dorina Borracchini (all 59.4) finished third.

Meanwhile, Robbie Benton won the longest drive competition and Marlon Laughter took home the ‘Closest to the Pin’ award.

Platinum sponsor Qatar Airways, Golf Sponsor FedEx, Silver Sponsors Amadeus, Quality Air Global and Lockheed Martin, along with AmCham Qatar members and representatives from Qatar’s business community took part in the tournament.

Discover America Week Qatar 2016 is an annual series of events celebrating the US-Qatar partnership, held this year during the week of February 15 to 22, as a joint effort between the Embassy of the United States and the American Chamber of Commerce.
