Landscape Forman

A landscape foreman oversees landscaping projects, as well as routine maintenance jobs. He may manage the creation of landscape features, such as flowerbeds, or supervise the installation of water features, such as ornamental ponds, waterfalls and fountains. On a weekly basis, a foreman and his crew might perform lawn maintenance. Depending on the size of his crew, the foreman’s primary function may be supervisory or he might work alongside his crew to complete projects.

Desired Skills & Experience

As the leader of a work crew, the foreman must be able to communicate effectively. He needs good people skills to work with his crew, his supervisors and homeowners. Foremen also must have strong organizational and time-management skills; the ability to follow directions; and good record-keeping skills to manage materials and expenses. Mechanical skills are necessary to make simple repairs.
