Qatar plans massive investments in non oil sectors
Yesterday HH The Emir chaired a cabinet meeting. The meeting outlined a strategy to propel the country’s economics in the face of low oil prices.
Some of the salient points are:
1. The country shall double its efforts to diversify the economic so as to lessen the dependence on oil.
2. The country shall invite international as well as local investments in the non oil sectors.
3. All hurdles that hinder the investments shall be removed.
Suggestion: The ministry of economy should call in for monthly interactive investment conferences (on domestic, regional and international scale) so as to implement the visionary business friendly strategy of HH the Emir.
Helicopter & Hot Air Balloon Rides have huge potential for the profit ........... it's small point but good for two national youths to make handsome earnings ......... every evening ......................
With several "Free Economic Zones", the hurdles in the investments shall fade away. Given Qatar's mid world geographical location, the country can become hub of import and export via free zones.
A tyre and a car plant (with only two products) alone offers huge potential to lessen the country reliance on oil & gas.
Getting foreign money into Qatar seems difficult. Most expatriates tend to take money out of Qatar. And the current laws forbid investment in Qatar. They would have to change a lot, and that is not going to happen, I guess.
