Qatar Iqama - Obtaining and open iqama

I am from Texas and looking to move to Qatar. The jobs i am applying for are wanting me to obtain an Iqama before i can apply. My question to you is, how do i obtain this iqama? Is it something that can be provided by the employer only? Or is it something that i can obtain, directly from government.
As your pen name states very clearly, they have come across a person who is very "bholabhala" -- (which means simpleton!)
Free visas are illegal. DON'T buy one.
If you are successful in an interview then the employer is obliged to provide the visa and the Work Permit
You have to be sponsored by your father (if male under 18 or a student or female) or your employer. People will offer to "sell" you iqama which is illegal and will no doubt cost you a lot of money and probably still won't get you the document.
