Places to Wakeboard in Doha/Qatar

here are some places You can rent the boat and gear for wakeboarding in Doha, if You know any place different please add a comment ! 

Qatar Watersports (Marina close to Admirals club)

Located at marina at Ritz Carlton Hotel, the closest pier to the Admirals club. Leave Your car at the first parking at Your right dont bother going innside. Qatar Watersports operates a sweet Yamaha Jet Boat that sets nice mellow wake for wakeboarding, and can also generate a wave good enough for wake surfing, the owners themself operate the boat and guide You thru the first steps on board if needed, They're both passionate watersports people who also run akitesurfing school here ( definatevely worth checking out !) , hence the overall experience is really great. You will be offered water and juice to refresh, and all needed equipment like boards wakeboard/wakesurf/kneeboard, vests, ropes etc will be provided. Rate for hour is 350 and 250 for ladies on tuesdays (GIRLS DAY).

Diplomatic Club 

Diplomatic is propably the one of the best places to start wakeboarding. Located near Pearl Qatar Diplomatic is located on shore of the channel that is the one of the best locations in doha for wakeboarding , hidden from waves of open water and less crowded than area next to zigzag/ritz carlton, is a perfect spot for watersports. Besides quick acces to best location You can also use the showers and changing rooms in diplomatic club, everything is convienient and the satff is very friendly. The Boats - well, ets say that these are not a best vessels for big airs, and pro wakeboarders but still they are good enough for rider at almost every level. They have 2 Boats , both with rear propeller and more DIY wake boats but as mentioned before... once You start crossing both sides wake to wake You can start moaning about the boat;) . The  big uspide are the drivers of boats, very experienced and good at what they do, they just know these boats better than anyone, they will adjust the speed and cruise to allow You get the best of experience. Also In Diplomatic Club You dont need any gear (boardshorts of course ) they have a pretty wide range of boards and get You going without any additional cost.

Katara 

Katara Beach is the host of many watersports in Doha, when it comes to wakeboarding they offer is a little poor. The Boat which is utilised on Katara seems to be slightly better than the ones in diplomatic, although i have to admit i didnt like it all , maybe its much better for skiing or wakeskate. Another downside of Katara is that You have to go find a toilet/changing room , then hope to get a boat(no reservations) and you NEED TO HAVE your own gear (they dont rent at all wakeboards), The driver was pretty good on what he did , although he lost much more time on picking me after crashes than it usually takes for guys from Diplomatic.

Lusail (Blue Marina) 

I Have to admit when I saw their flyer on my doorstep , i thought its early christmas They offer the widest range of watersport activities including : kitesurfing, windsurfinh, hooverboards,jetskis, jetpacks, flyboards , dhow boats , yachts and of course Wakeboarding. They have all the necesary gear for all of above. Also the guy whos in charge has a good vibe and the service is really nice ( I hope this place will raise to be the one of best on Doha ). I got also a excited (big time) when i heard  that they have a mastercraft X2 boat for 300 per hour , that sounded just like a great deal since i always wanted to try on one of big wakesetters like MC , Axis or Malibu. Unfortunatelly since i visited them in June/July i thin they still dont have any mastercrft boat :( , as i was told its in maintanance. They are using very powerfull V-haul Boat which seems to be great (although i guess it more of tow boat for inflatables than for wakeboarding) unfortunatelly dissapointed me a little bit. Their Driver named Das is a very nice gentelmen although he needs to spend more hours on boat , we had a speed problems very often , when boat goes slow (27) the wake is very fuzzy and dont kick You properly. Unfortunatelly to get a great transition You have to go really fast which feels uncomfortable once You get on edge and go towards the wake with high speed . Ive seen Yesterday some friends also using it around Diplomatic Club and i seen they were struggling big time to do any of the tricks (which they usually do on diplomatic). Overall rating is good with high expectations for future , as they promise to develope with time their already cool offer. 

TIP: The worst thing for Blue marine is location, if You want to wake there go in morning (8-11) , they will take to channel between ritz carlton and Zigzag towers, which is absolutelly awesome(wider and longer than diplomatic), unfortunatelly around noon it gets so crowded with jetskis and other boats its almost impossible to get a clean wake. If You wish to go to diplomatic You have to consider loosing about 40-50 minutes of Your time for getting there and comming back.

Kempinski (The Pearl)

Kempinski Hotel at Pearl, decided to raise the bar for local watersports and is in possesion of brand new Matercraft X23 (or25) which is the sweeeeeetest boat on market You can create a huge wakes, or even Surf behind it due to its out of this world ballasting and wake-creating tech. I will give You some insides of it once i Try it , its pretty pricey - 500qar for Hour, I can believ that they will also get You equiped at this price point. The driver as i heard is one of the best in DOha ( ex diplomatic club) and besides driving the boat can learn you some backrolls.. but as i mentioned Ill write some more detils about it later.
