I AM WORKING IN DOHA FOR A MONTH NOW AND I AM DEFINITELY NOT LIKING THE WAY EMPLOYEES ARE BEING TREATED HERE. I HAVE NOT SIGNED ANY CONTRACTS YET ONLY OFFER LETTERS.

QUESTION: IF I RESIGN (GIVING A MONTH NOTICE THOUGH), DO I NEED TO PAY FOR THE VISA THAT MY COMPANY PAID FOR?

PLEASE ADVISE.

Hi, in my consideration, you have the full right to choose your job or leave it. if you have to leave the country you may have to pay only for your flight tickets (if the company does not want to furnish it or if in case indicated in your offer letter. . Please collect your salaries before notifying your employer. You do not have to pay for visa charges. This was company's responsibilities.

Treatment of employees in Qatar is not very good. I have also experienced the same. I work for a multi-national company here and already worked in multiple countries. Even after that I could observe ........

It's not the company, but a certain group of people who make it bad. If you enjoy your work and the office then please think before leaving the job without securing another one (definitely outside Qatar, as you cannot change work permit for another employee less than a year time).

The Job market is really not very good outside middle east at this time. Please secure another job and then decide. By this time, you may start liking your works. Try to overcome the situations and discuss also with your family and friends.

Finally, if your offer letter does not indicate any financial compensation then you do not have to pay for anything.

You will probably end up paying for a return ticket

Suppose it's your shop , you give ad , find a person & he joins & runs away after 2.5 days ...... imagine how upset you would be ................ ?

.

And when after two weeks he returns to get his 3 days salary ........... What would you do ?

PL, You made a promise now not keeping your word this is not fair, company has invested a considerable amout in recruiting you , who will compensate that, simply your choice will cause huge loss to the sponsor, you spoiled a good vacancy which would have taken by another needy guy ............ Bad decision ...........

An offer letter has very little meaning or value. A contract attested by the Labour Office does. Since you have not signed a contract, the company may only be able force you to buy your return ticket and nothing more than that. You do not need to give even a month's notice as there is no legal contract between you and the company yet. You could give them say a week's notice. Just make sure you collect your salaries before putting in your resignation letter as the company may hold your salaries back, and you will be left helpless.

Depends on what you signed in the contract/agreement before you came here.

Visa charges are the companies responsibility.
