Advice on Travel while Work Permit is being processed.

I got a Tourist visa on arrival and my company is in the process of arranging a Work visa for me. I have been advised not to travel while this is in process. However, I have only read that you cannot travel while your work visa is being converted to a Residence Permit, so why is travel restricted during this work visa process?

I am yet to do any medical tests and etc. and my tourist visa is due to expire in a few days. I know it can be extended for another 30 days without leaving the country but I still need clarification with the restriction above.

Please help!

you cannot travel without having the RP because your visa is tourist, you cannot use that visa to travel to Dubai unless you apply for a tourist visa going to Dubai. if you do that, you cannot come anymore in Doha.

This is the critical time ..... your boss is watching you closely ........... he will note it down that you are not concetrating on learning your new work & responsibility .............. if you go on tours like this how can he depend on you .............. you won't get a good salary increase at the year end ........... .......... but still there is something in Dubai which is pulling you that side ............. anyhow we don't want to know those secret treasures in Dubai which are so tempting to you ................... Fully agree with Accha's views ................

Just manage to settle down first and don't bring unwanted problems to yourself. Frankly, from what I know, it would not be possible for you travel under the present circumstances.

I laugh....There is no hidden agenda, I already accepted the job offer 2 months ago and I've been busy with work, found accommodation and etc. I only want to visit family in Dubai during this Eid holiday.

So does this mean there is no restrictions on travel while Work permit is being processed and i'm just being deterred because I may have hidden agendas?

Newbie1011: If you came here looking for work and were lucky to find one, why do you need to travel in such a short time? As rightly stated my Molten Metal, there appears to be a hidden agenda.
