Qatar's population in June reach 2.34 million
Qatar's population as of June 30 this year reached 2.34 million (2,344,557), witnessing nine percent rise compared to June last year according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.
The population only reached 2.15 million (2,151,745) the same time last year. However, the month-on-month population figures in June witnessed a marginal decline of 1.28 percent compared to previous May (2,374,860) this year. This is understandably due to summer vacations when a lot of Qataris and expatriates travel outside the country.

The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics bulletin is released on a monthly basis to identify the developments and changes that occur in the social and economic aspects in Qatar.
Visitors to Qatar increased by 7.3 percent in June 2015 versus the same of period of 2014. Visitors from GCC countries made up the highest proportion (40.7 percent) of total visitors.
