Ban Sale of illegal chewy tobaccos from residential areas

Ask anyone why there is a beeline to Al Wifaq street near Old Ghanim area and the answer is because of the sale of illegal chewy tobacco, called Sweka. Evey now and then, some of those who sell them are chased and caught by the men in uniform, but they continue to be released and they return like cockroaches, selling them once again with no regrets and with more experience on how to be evasive. Worst part is that they dont sell it from their house and instead use the premises of innocent bachelors living in that area. You cannot touch them simply becuase they wouldn't hesitate to get physical on you or they must be having good support from people sitting in high seats. They certainly have guards waiting at strategic points, who inform the sellers via mobie, of 'unfirendly faces' that are in the neighbourhood. I don't care where and how they sell them, but my plea is to pease ban their sale from residential areas, especially from the premises of bachelor residences. Just stand in that lane for some time and you will see a host of youngsters and high- profile men coming in big cars (private and official cars), sometimes alone or accommpanied by friends, wives and children to buy them. The number of people selling them have quadrupled in a short span, some even working on shift system.

It is high time the authorities take a note and take an action on this. I cannot believe this is happening in a country like Qatar. I don't think this practice of selling illegal stuff from residential areas is seen or tolerated even in third world countries. Would you allow this kind of illegal sale happen in front of your door step? I certainly don't think so!! I am sick and tired of sitting idle on this and I hope that whole place will be raided and closed down for such business, for good. I pray for good riddance to rubbish people like them.

From a concerned citizen.

Haaa Haa Haa... Yes of course,. Why not, when they are sold like hot cakes 24/7 and nobody is daring enough to raise their voices against them?

They should give them a booth in the malls.
