Hi !

Ill be moving soon to Qatar, working at the airport. I do however would like to live at the pearl. Anyone could tell me whats the normal and max driving time at traffic hours more or less would be? Or should i really consider to live closer?

Al Thumama is definitely much calmer than the Pearl, but it is a different area. There is no beach there and no residential towers. It is all villas and some compounds. But to be honest, for the price of a 1bdr in the Pearl you can get a 3bdr in Thumama.

What is a calm area then near the airport ? Al Thumama? Al Wakrah?

Did they tell you the Pearl is quiet? Oh God just spend there few weeks before signing a lease agreement and you will see yourself. All those wealthy kids driving Ferraris and Porches will visit you around 2am and will give you a taste of how calm the area is :)

Yacine, why not I prefer a more calm area?

Living in the Pearl is a very bad decision but that's a different story. You may want to start another thread with that topic.

You will have to go through the traffic jams at The Pearl-Qatar and Doha Corniche before you can get to HIA. On a busy day, it will probably take you 45mins to an hour or so from TPQ to HIA.
