Qatar to invest $10bn in Indian state
A delegation from Qatar has met with the Chief Minister of India's Andhra Pradesh state to discuss a $10 billion investment.
This mostly involves projects for the state's proposed new capital city between Vijayawada and Guntur.
In a meeting with N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister, Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani, advisor at the General Secretariat of Council of Ministers, discussed the investment opportunities.
The Andhra Pradesh government's communications advisor Parakala Prabhakar said: "It was a preliminary meeting where the Qatar team has expressed its interest to invest broadly in the areas of roads, construction and power generation."
"Details of their participation in exact projects and investments will be worked out later through MoUs and definitive agreements."
Anyone from Andhra Pradesh here? What are your thoughts on this investment?
