I have a very specific problem pertaining to Family visa and need expert advice. I applied for residence visa for my wife and the same was approved. However, while applying for visa, old passport copy was attached and visa is issued with old passport details. She had already travelled to Qatar on visit visa with the new passport details.
Now to change the passport details in Visa, I have gone to Garaffa, Mesaimeer and Wakrah immigrations but still its not done. Wakrah and Messaimeer imigration told me that the correction can be done only from Garaffa immigration. I have submitted this request to change passport details in visa almost a week back but still its not done. Whenever I got to Garaffa imigration, they told me that, it will be done tomorrow but that tomorrow never came.
Now my question is, can she travel as she is holding both old and new passport with her. Her old passport has the stamp "Cancelled" after the new passport was issued. I want to bring her before Eid and if someone can help me on that, it would be grateful.
thanks rico.. Let me contact Indian embassy. The problem is, visa is yet to stamped on her passport. I recently applied for family visa and the visa got approved. However the name and passport details mentioned in the visa is as per the old (cancelled) passport. Dont know if that will be a issue if she travels.
For all i know, there is no need to transfer the visa from the old passport to the new passport eventhough it is cancelled, just present, submit or bring the two passports with her. my wife renews her passport and her visa was attached to the old passport, they cancelled her old passport but the embassy (phil) told her to keep the old one because the visa is not yet expired. If your wife travels, she needs to bring/carry the two passports. Pls try to contact your embassy for other info
