Driving Signal Test Help
Hi guys:
New US expat here with a question about the signal test, I would really appreciate it if you could bear with me and read through the whole thing.
This has been my experience thus far. Six of us went to take the vision/signal test. I did not pass the vision test but my friends were able to take the signal test, and three passed out of five, but they were just as confused as we were as to how they passed (one got an X at the end of the test and still managed to get signed off as passing). The two who did not pass took it again this morning and unfortunately still failed, but will have two more opportunities to try. This is making me somewhat anxious. I understand the signal test has been updated as recently as 2013, and now consists of 20 questions, of which you must get 18 right to pass.
Examples of the 2 types of questions on the new signal test:
Type 1: Is this a violation (with a picture of something like a car crossing a double yellow line)?
And you must pick from the two answer choices given: "Right" or "Wrong"
Type 2: a simple one where a signal is shown and options are given as to what it means.
My concern is with the unfortunate translation of type 1 questions, which has caused confusion among us, does the answer choice "right" mean "yes it is a violation" or "no the maneuver is the right thing to do and therefore not a violation"? Can someone who has taken the test recently please help us clarify?
Thanks so much!
Thanks guys it would be very helpful if you could tell us when you took the test because the new one was implemented sometimes in April. Thanks so much.
Unfortunately US licenses are no longer valid outside of the first 15 days of your stay in Qatar
Few months back i took the driving test,
Signal test (2 attempt passed)
Parking test (1 attempt passed)
Road test (1 attempt passed)
Signal test contains of 20 question and you should have 19 correct answer, otherwise your failed.
on your sample question, you should choose the "Wrong" button as it clearly says that on the picture someone is violating, no offense but the grammar of the question which came from MOI is not correct, that's why too many examiners are failing now these days (signal test)
sorry to say but right now its upon your luck to clear the Driving test as now they are going to give limited license..
but by the way as u said you are US Expat you just need to convert your license if you have your US Driving license...
"Right" goes for "yes it is a violation"
"Wrong" goes for "yes it is not"
take your time in theory test it just confusin at first but after reading question 2 to 3 time it gets easy
