QCB to issue fresh currency notes for Eid

The banking regulator will issue new and crisp currency bills of all denominations on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, which is less than a week away.

People crave for crisp riyal bills on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr as they must give cash gifts particularly to children.

Qatar Central Bank (QCB) issues new and crisp riyal notes ahead of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr every year.

The QCB, QNA reported yesterday quoting it, keeps circulating large amounts of bank notes throughout the year.

The amount has so far this year reached a staggering QR1.7bn.

Qataris give gifts of cash to their family and relatives for Eid. But it can't just be crumpled up, pre-used money, they like to give nice crisp clean bank notes, straight from the mint. You need to find yourself some Qatari friends so that they give you some money the Eid spider!

QNA is the Qatar News Agency. I don't think they will have any crisp notes for you! I went to the ATM and the 100Qar notes I got were all new and crisp. If you need smaller value notes, like 1, 5 or 10, you'll have to get them over the counter at your bank branch.
