A criminal court has sentenced an Asian worker to a month in jail and fined him QR5,000 for stabbing a colleague in rage over his failure to prepare meal for him.

The convict and the victim were working in an animal breeding farm in Abu Nakhla and the former always forced the latter to do things for him.

Local Arabic daily Al Raya reported yesterday that one fine day the victim, who was always asked by the convict to cook food for them, failed to prepare the meal.

This infuriated the convict, a Bangladeshi, and he began shouting at the victim.

The man later picked a knife and assaulted the victim. The victim resisted but suffered minor injuries. The convict fled the scene after the incident.

Police, however, caught him and referred him to Public Prosecution which filed charges against him in the court.
