Dear All

I need some expert advice, I am working as an Engineer in Hamad Internatioanal Airport and I have got a job offer from Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) for Metro Rail Project after passing 4 interviews of long durations. The Package they are offering me is that same as I am getting here but they are not giving me Family Status till 2 years. Now the job offer is with me and I have to confirm/reject it.

Kindly help me out as how to negotiate with them. its a total package of SAR 11760 and I am getting here QAR 11000 with Family Status.

Regards

Jay

@khalliwalli you are not talking real....to live such standard in saudi you should be either a 60 K SAR or more per month , or you freind to some prince or something

11760 is very good in KSA , i am working there currently and i take about that number

you will need Housing 2000 SAR

Car 1000 SAR for buying , 2000 if you rent

living including family : maximum 3000 or 3500 if you go out a lot

but dear , living in KSA is like being in jail, and you wife won't work if you bring her

I would reply them now and I am considering @urstrulyash comment to put a requirement of 4-5k more then the current. Lets hope for the best, May the odds be in my favour.. Cheers.

Thanks everyone.. Be Blessed.

Qatar is FAMILY friendly as compared to Saudi. In Qatar they are FREE, and the opposite if they are in Saudi Arabia.

@khalliwalli, Agreed but remember without job u cannot upkeep your family in a foreign country, and so both are important. First Negotiate about offer then check if you can take your family for visit at least after probation period, this can work out as you wait for your further approval for your family permanent visa...Otherwise you might lose 4 running for 8....Think Big....

Dear, congrats for your new offer. now you have to choose from either of the following:

Qatar- 11000k, adv- family status, better social life. disadv- high cost of living, rent, commodities.

Saudi- almost same salary, adv- very low rents, low commodity price. disadv- social life, family status only after 2 years.

its upto you dear. if you could negotiate for another 4-5k, its worthy, else leave it. considering all the relocation headache you take for a mere 1760, its not worthy. this is what I would have done if in your situation. cheers mate.

I don't understand, at this stage what and How should I demand to give my expectation a maximum boost for acceptance.

Yours are asking such a question means you are not very determined to keep the family status. That is the first thing that will affect your decision.

FYI, the cost of living in KSA is much less and also for Muslims, living in KSA holds some religious importance as one can travel frequently to Makkah/Madina, otherwise Qatar is better option without a doubt.

Doha is much better place than Riyadh don't go there for 600 SAR.

I agree with @Molten Metal, as I can't take my family there till 7-8 months due to some family constraints. In this scenario what am I suppose to do or how to negotiate..?

Here I am getting 9000 basic and they have offered me 6000. They had driven me crazy with such package but at the end its open for negotiation.

I am really glad for the efforts you all are making and to have your suggestions but I want to negotiate for family Status and Revised offer which is acceptable. I want to consider a situation which is a Win Win for both of us..

Dear Every one has his own Mind according to me live with family is more Important than to Earn and Save Money,,,,,, My suggestion to you is to keep stay here in Qatar.

You have to choose higher amount / more money because family can wait .........

in real the world most families prefer money over the person who earns for them , proof is even if we leave this world they still need money ............................ .....Wed , 04.06.2014 , 11.40 hrs
