Over 11,000 visitors expected at QITCOM 2014

QITCOM held a press conference Tuesday morning to officially announce the plans for the upcoming conference that will kick-off on May 26th.

Qatar’s largest ICT event is organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in collaboration with fischerApplet. 

Several Qatari and international experts are participating this year's conference as keynote speakers and panellists, presenting case studies about ongoing changes in the ICT sector’s framework, innovations and available opportunities in the Qatari market.

“Discussions will cover ongoing construction and infrastructure projects in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and ICT Strategy 2015”, Renal Shaaban, QITCOM Manager, said at the press conference.

Shaaban pointed out that more than 100 leading ICT companies are participating in QITCOM this year, and more than 11 thousand visitors are expected to show up in a span of three days

ictQatar is organising several QITCOM 2014 events and activities such as Innovation Theatre, which includes competitions for young emerging entrepreneurs and talented students, in addition to introducing the ministry’s new initiatives and programmes.

The first day of QITCOM 2014 will focus on analyzing Qatar’s current and future ICT framework including both the opportunities and challenges

The second day will highlight the role of ICT in the business sector and its tremendous contributions to achieving social and economic development in keeping with the Qatar’s national vision.

The third day will focus on future prospects of the nation's ICT sector and competitive edge in the region.
