need advice whether to come to qatar for work?

hi all,

i have applied for a job with work location as doha in qatar. i am a hindu from india. i was doing google search about working in qatar - then i came to know about exit permit requirement to leave qatar.

the job is a contract with 1.5 years duration. i have a family but i am not taking my family to qatar, rather i will stay alone in doha while working.

i was thinkiing that there would be work permit in qatar with multiple entry-exit option in it, so that i can have my work permit with multiple entry-exit so that after every 2 months i can come back to india and again go to doha. moreover, if some emergency arises in my family, then also i would need to travel back to india.

BUT it seems that the actual situation is this - the work permit will not have multiple entry/exit option. when i will reach doha for work, the employer will take my passport. so since i will not have my passport with me, so when i have to exit and re-enter doha, i will have to ask for employer's permission and then if the employer wants he can give permission to me or he can deny permission to me - moreover since this exit permit and reentry permit visa may cost some money to employer, so due to this reason also the employer may decide to not allow me to travel back to india. Then in this case, even if there is a medical emergency in my family in india, i will not be able to come back to india and rather just become a sort of bonded labour or a slave with no freedom or a prisoner in jail - may be i am overthinking about this thing, but i want to know is this what will be the actual condition, when i come to Doha for work?

moreover, since i have just applied for the job, so any suggestions how should i negotiate on this multiple entry/exit thing, so that i do not become a bonded labour or a slave in Doha. i am a software engineer with nearly 8 years experience, so in a way i am a skilled worker and dont want to become a slave of somebody and not able to take care of my family.

request all to please tell accurately as to what is the actual work permit scenario in qatar. thanks.

I am living in Qatar for the past 14 years and never felt myself as a bonded labour whenever I need to go to my home county after taking approval from my company I used to go so first you get the job then you decide to come or not
