Traffic Fines?

Here in the UAE, you may drive 20kph over the posted speed limit.  But if you are caught driving 21kph or more over the posted limit, you will get a ticket and have to pay AED300.  How does this work in Qatar?

I believe in Oman 10kph over the posted limit is acceptable, but not 11kph or more.

Thanks.

What is the fastest posted speed limit in Qatar? 120kph? 140kph? The fastest posted in the UAE is 120kph, which allows one to drive up to 140kph.

What about roundabouts? I hate it when drivers change lanes mid-roundabout, or coming out of a roundabout. Will drivers in Qatar be ticketed for such reckless lane changes? I've never been clear on something about roundabouts. Imagine a three lane roundabout with three lanes feeding the RA and three lanes departing the RA. If you enter the RA in the right-hand lane, are you obligated to make a right turn (1st exit)? If you enter the RA in the middle lane, are you obligated to go straight (2nd exit)? If you enter the RA in the left lane, are you obligated to go either straight, make a left turn (3rd exit), or make a U-turn (4th exit)?

Thanks for the replies. Here in the UAE, you will be run off the road if you don't acknowledge that you should be driving 119kph in a 100kph-posted zone. I'm not asking because I have a desire to drive faster than the posted limit; I just want to be forewarned of the traffic norms in Qatar. It seems, then, that the posted limit is the law. Good. This is what it should be. Do a majority of drivers in Qatar adhere to the posted limit? I will be there to figure it all out for myself in August, but the heads-up is appreciated. Thanks.

I have not experience a grace speed limit, few km faster gets me fined. I do not know of anyone getting a grace of 10 Km over the speed limit. Anyways congrats and good luck to those that do get a grace speed limit.
