Assalatu Wassalamu Alaika Ya Rasoolallah
Sallallahu Taala Alaika Wasallam

2 Important Sunnats for the month of Zil Hajj

1. Fasting in the Holy month of Zil Hajj
It is Sunnat to keep fast during the holy month of Zil Hajj especially on 9th of Zil Hajj (Day of Arafat) i.e Thursday, 26 Nov 2010.

2. Sunnat of NOT cutting Hairs and Nails during 1st of Zil Hajj till Eid-ul-Adha/Qurbani

According to the Sunnat of our Holy Prophet Sallallahu Taala Alaika Wasallam one should NOT cut his/her Hairs (from all over body) and Nails (tips and toes) starting from 1st of Zil Hajj until Eid-ul-Adha or Qurbani.

Persons who will be doing Qurbani in their names should cut their hairs and nails after their Qurbani (whether it’s done on 1st, 2nd or 3rd day of the Eid).

And for persons who will not be doing Qurbani should cut their hairs and nails after Namaz e Eid.

Please Note: Muslims are not allowed to grow their nails and hairs (under arms and non pubic hairs only) for longer than 40 days.

Takbeer-e-Tashreeq:

"ALLAHU AKBAR ALLAHU AKBAR

LAA ILAHA ILLALLAHU WALLAHU AKBAR

ALLAHU AKBAR WALILLAHILHAMD"

Starting from Fajr Salaat of 9th Zil Hajj up to Asr Salaat of 13th Zil Hajj (5 days).

Every person who prays their Farz Salaat in congregation (Jamaa'at) should recite Takbeer-e-Tashreeq (as stated above) immediately after completing the Salaat.

While it is Waajib (compulsory) to recite the Takbeer at least once, but it is Mustahab (good) to recite it for 3 times.

People who are unable to pray Salaat in congregation, due to any valid reason, can also recite "Takbeer-e-Tashreeq" 3 times after their Farz Salaat as it is Mustahab for them to recite too.

Please note: Zikr and Tilawat (including Takbeer-e-Tashreeq) should always be pronounced as loudly as to at least the person reciting should be able to hear it clearly.

Eid Mubarak to all QLers in advance :)
