Register your Pets for Free
Hi everyone. A few months ago, Poppy, Xena and myself mentioned the need for a database of pet owners here in Qatar. Due to this being a public forum, and the fact that a great many of us surf with relative anonymity, we really didn't (well at least I didn't) get a great deal of response.
There is a solution however. I have researched to find an international database that offers the kind of thing we are looking for. It was a little difficult because most of those 'lost pet networks' are local or national, so they really don't help us here in the middle east. But I am happy to say that I found one that does all that and more.
The good thing is that your pet doesn't have to be lost to register it. Once you've registered your pets (you can have several on your registration details) you are sure that should your pet ever go missing or get stolen, you can access and send the alert immediately without going through the motions of registering.
You can upload a picture of each pet, add veterinary details so that your vet gets alerted in the event your pet is lost, AND...... an e-mail alert will be sent out to people living in your area that are already registered. So you see, this won't work unless all of us register.
What is the Dog Detective ALERT System? How does it work?
When you send an ALERT for your pet, registered organizations throughout the state and/or province and country are notified. Some Alerts are also sent by radius depending on the date lost and size of the dog. Getting your dog's information in front of as many people as possible is the best thing you can do to find your pet. A Dog Detective ALERT helps you do just that.
Time is of the essence. An ALERT immediately lets people know that your dog is missing. Make sure that as many people as possible know right away, that your dog has a home!
So please register your pets today. Too many dogs here are lost or stolen, and this really is the best way to address the problem without giving up anonymity. Plus it's free, so why not.........it could help you find your beloved pet one day. :)
