Family RP / Meeting with Committee experience

Dear All,

Just sharing my experience in committee meeting for family RP. Thought it might be useful to someone.

I had the meeting scheduled on 02 April 2014, and the meeting was at gharafa immigration building no 4, first floor. When you get in there you could see a cabin with plenty of chairs on your right side. you can get in there and get the token no for the appointment , make sure to take the paper you received from the immigration mentioning the appointment time as the guys in the counter will definitely ask for the same for giving you a token . My meeting was scheduled for 7 am but get lucky to see them by 8 though am the first to reach there. After waiting for some time they will call us by token numbers and will take us to a room inside where we can meet the committee members.

I was asked to sit there and asked only 5 questions which lasted for only 4-5 min. Committee consisted on one lady member and 3 gents (2 captains I believe with dark blue uniforms and 1 Qatari). As I don’t know Arabic the lady took the initiative in asking me the questions in English. She asked for the following clarifications.

1.     My educational background

2.     Salary as per contract

3.     Position with the company and company nature of business.

4.     Accommodation details

5.     And she asked me that how long I am residing here in Qatar.

She didn’t ask for any certificates or contracts for any of these questions (as they already have a copy of this with our applications but it’s always advisable to keep a original and/or copy all your documents of the same).  And finally she said to check the status after 3 days. Technically it seems to me like a win-win meeting but as all of us know it is completely at their  discretion.

Just sharing this hoping that it will give an idea to those who will go for same procedure in future.

Request your prayers too.

Anish.

Hi landsend, Sorry i couldnt notice your comment.

As you said, the profession and visa category should match as they will definitely check this . Even i had the same situation but my company change the VISA profession to my actual profession which is sales executive (before it was mech engineer). Always keep the designation in the contract and rp/visa be the same to avoid any possible rejections from them.

Hi all

My family visa got rejected and the reason being what the lady at the desk said was my JOB, Im a Quantity surveyor but my RP says im a Technician. I keep hearing that your RP needs to match your qualification? anybody shed any light on this? I have a meeting on the 27th with the comittee. Anybody else told their reasons for rejection?

Im in the process of getting my RP desigination changed to match my QS degree. Hopefully it will be done before I go in.

What you think Anish?

Gentleman, I had a different experience. I got an appointment in July 2013 and I went with all my original certificates and copy as well. It was a committee of 4 members including one young girl (seemed like secretary) and one of the male committee members just asked me 2 questions. a) How are you? I replied, then he asked Whats your salary? I said my salary what is mentioned in the labour contract. Then he told me to check the application after 3 days and next day my family resident visa was approved. The Important thing is that they just want to see the sponsor to identify that this application is genuine and the information given is correct. Only the applicant / sponsor is allowed to meet the committee members. I saw, some applicants came in suit and later their visa application was rejected by the committee. There is no Dress code to meet the committee members, but you should wear a decent dress. it all depends on your luck.

All the best to all .
