Do I need RP before starting job?

Hi All,

I will be relocating to Doha for my new job Do I have to have a RP before starting my job? Or I will first start the job and then apply for RP? . Currently going through F-B-I finger-print checks in US. My employer told me that next step would be to send these FP results to state department and qatar embassy.

My second questions is regarding car rental. I went to local AAA branch and made an in international driving license. Should I be able to rent a car in Doha with this? Or I will need a Qatari ID/license for car rental

You can get your entry vis for employment from the Qatar embassy of your home country provided the work visa issued by the employer fom Qatar. RP will be made only after arriving in Qatar.

Passport will be enough to rent a car and if you have international driving license then no issue you can driver for temp basis. after RP you have to get the local license.
