Traffic jams may continue for two to three years
People in Qatar may have to live with the snarling traffic at least for two to three years.
“There is no quick solution to traffic jams but some projects are being implemented that will bear fruit after two to three years,” the Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti said yesterday.
Separate lanes will be built for public buses. The first project will be implemented along the Salwa Road starting from Ramada on an experimental basis and such projects will be implemented in other areas.
The public transport system is being upgraded and there is a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of public transport among the younger generation.

More roads and routes will surely lessen the traffic jams. Public transport will not be effective with local for sure. Not unless the transport fare is low enough for encouragement.
the govt. should not allow more cars on road if roads, lanes and parking are not enough and not capable to handle the current worst situation. I have two suggestions for the govt.:
It should impose a high tax on importing more cars into the state.
It should introduce more public transports in terms of buses.
It should speed up the Metro thing.
S it is good to her, but after 2X3 years the numbers of vehicle on road will be double Again !!!
but it is a good effort by Qatar Gov.
Thanks
