Odometer fraud

Someone sold me a car.  The engine broke four days after I bought it.  The dealer said the odometer has been altered--there is 40 percent more miles on the engine than we were told.  The car cost 60k QR, and the engine rebuild will cost 30k.  I'm guessing that pursuing this legally wouldn't be worth it.

you need to tell us what car it is..many garages specialize in specific cars and i could maybe help you out with some reputed names in industrial area..my own car, as much as i am obsessed with it; loves to smoke my money and takes me all over the country in order to keep it happy..don't worry i believe this can be fixed for much less than the dealer..

Qr.18,000 or Qr,10,000.00 is a big amount after paying Qr.60K to buy the car, check with some of the garages in Industrial area, if the engine repair is significantly less, go for it, however, if is close to the dealers, then go with the dealer.

I'm taking recommendations for an outside repair shop. The dealer's work is warrantied. I could have a used, decent engine put in for 18,000 QR. The question, I suppose, is whether it is worth 10,000 QR for the comfort of a warranty. I'm basically a tourist and will be gone in three years.

The Op is quoting the price needed to repair the engine from the dealer . Its way cheaper outside and there are many who repair it to perfection.

Hope Your new car comes to life soon :)

You will not get anything by taking legal action. Charge it to experience. From the little experience I have of car maintenance, I don't think it should cost you that much to overhaul the engine.
